Bart and Brianna met on September 29th, 2007 in Manhattan, Kansas while they were both attending Kansas State University.  Bart was watching the KSU vs Texas football game with his buddies, one of whom is her cousin.  Bart says he had no idea one of his best friends had a cousin that attractive!  After that they ended up hanging out more, particularly when playing coed intramural sports together.  Bart says he always wanted to date Brianna but it never worked out and he graduated her sophomore year of college and moved to Houston, TX for work.  After a year and a half down there he moved back to Kansas, but once again it didn’t work out between them.  After two long years of dating other people, God and life events brought them back together.  Brianna had always felt God telling her he was the one and knew for sure that this was the case.  Seven months later they took the best vacation of their lives to Moab, Utah.  Bart had the ring and had a plan laid out for the proposal the first day they were there. However, after some bad luck and getting a late start,  it wasn’t looking too good for it to work out that day.  It all worked out better than he had ever imagined after some random meetings with people and impromptu climbing. He asked her to marry him on the top of Double O Arch in Arches National Park.  They were lucky enough to get pictures and video of the whole thing without Brianna even knowing about it!  That was on May 24, 2013 and by pure happenstance they will be getting married exactly one year later, coming soon on May 24, 2014!  The wedding will be at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, KS, Brianna’s hometown.

I had a great time getting to know Bart and Brianna a couple of months ago at a consultation. I learned one big thing about their relationship: They love a lot of stuff I don’t (or am scared to try) KSTATE Fans… outdoorsy… mountainy… Bart even proposed on top of a mountain! Heights scare me! (Ask my wife, I can’t even climb on our roof!) I am really excited to film their wedding this up coming Saturday in Dodge City! Be sure to wish the couple congratulations on their marriage and new life together!
