I’m starting something new here at Nick Miller Films and letting future wedding couples share their story. I stole the idea (my youth ministry professor in college said that the best ministers steal ideas from others…) from my friend Leslee of Leslee Layton Films (don’t be mad:)). 

I’ll let Niki share their story…

Austin & I first met sometime in the third grade when we both transferred to Wichita Collegiate School. We went to school together for 10 years and graduated from WCS together in 2008. That August, we went off to separate colleges, Austin headed to KU and me to K-State. 

By January of 2009, the distance between Manhattan and Lawrence seemed too far, even for “just friends.” We found ourselves spending many weekends back in Wichita to spend as much time together as we could. By May, we knew the whole “just friends” thing wasn’t quite enough and officially started dating.

Four years later, Austin proposed to me in his parent’s back yard at sunset on July 3rd. There were candles floating in the pool, my favorite Blake Shelton songs playing, a candle lit path way to a table set with photos of us, champagne and the ring box. Austin got down on one knee, and after quite a bit of disbelief, I finally said yes and here we are today!

We will be getting married May 17th, 2014 at the Scottish Rite and our reception will be at the Drury Hotel. We will be having an incredibly big wedding but look forward to celebrating with 500 of our dearest friends and family!a

I bumped into Niki at the airport in Las Vegas back in March (how random is that!? I mean we were at a conference in LV and she was flying from CA to Wichita… so random!), and we chatted the whole flight home about her wedding. I’ve been pretty excited for their day and can’t wait to film it! Congrats you two!
