From Megan:

John and I officially met in 2007 when we were in high school at Kapaun Mt. Carmel. We had known of each other for a few years, but I was a senior and John was a junior; our social circles rarely crossed. Once our friend groups started hanging out together, John and I couldn’t stop hanging out together on our own. Although it was taboo for a senior girl to date a junior, we didn’t care about high school social code!

John and I both attended KU and enjoyed many basketball games and date parties together there. Since I was a year older, I graduated a year before John and moved to Dallas for grad school. A 500-mile long distance relationship didn’t scare us; we both sacrificed to travel back and forth to see each other that year. After John graduated from KU, he moved to San Antonio for medical school and we continued a long distance relationship.

The years we spent traveling back and forth to see each other made us even more certain that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Last February, John took a $1 bus from San Antonio to Dallas to surprise me with a scavenger hunt. The final clue led me to the Dallas Arboretum, one of our favorite spots, where he was waiting for me with a ring.

We are getting married on May 31, 2014 in Wichita, where our love story began. All of our friends and family who have watched us grow together over the past seven years will be there to witness our vows at the Cathedral and then celebrate with us after at The Petroleum Club.

I am so very blessed to do what I do, and I cannot wait to film John & Megan’s wedding this weekend! Congrats, you two!
